"Of Beauty & Deities" focuses on the classical, southern Indian bharata natyam. This is a dance and music form which tells the stories of Hindu deities, and the dance movements are a form of sign language. To make it more accessible, we have "translated" one of the dances. The documentary relies heavily upon the expertise of K.P. and Katherine Kunhiraman, dance instructors trained in the prestigious Kalakshetra Institute in Chennai (formerly Madras), India.
