This film explores an important part of the culture of India – a dance form, bharatanatyam. Relying on two masters trained in India’s famous Kalakshetra Institute, we see how the dance is intimately linked to India’s Hindu heritage.
The chief spokesperson in the documentary are Katherine Kunhiraman, and her husband the famous dancer K.P. Kunhiraman. They founded a dance academy in California which serves the daughters of Indian immigrants anxious to pass their heritage on to the next generation. The dances are both beautiful and colorful, and the stories, fascinating.

We have just completed The Many Facets of Sikh: California and Beyond (part 1) – (see left) – but it is not yet for sale; I’m hoping to get it onto national television (PBS and others) and into film festivals.
The two films to the right are both in production. I am also actively working on part 2 of The Many Facets of Sikh. It will be the final part.
